What’s open and closed on Independence Day in the Inland Empire – San Bernardino Sun

GOVERNMENT OFFICES: All federal, state, Riverside County, San Bernardino County and city offices will be closed Monday.

MAIL DELIVERY: Mail will not be delivered Monday.

FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS: Will be closed Monday.

STORES: Most major stores and supermarkets will be open Monday.


Riverside Transit Agency, Dial-A-Ride will not operate on Monday. The Customer Information Center and RTA’s administrative offices will be closed on Monday.  Regular service resumes on Tuesday.

Omnitrans buses will not operate on Monday. Administrative offices will be closed on Monday. Buses and Customer Service Call Center will resume service on Tuesday.

Foothill Transit buses will follow their weekend or Sunday schedules on Monday. Transit Store Information: On Monday, the customer information line at 800-RIDE-INFO (743-3463) will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the Puente Hills Transit Store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All other stores will be closed.

Metrolink will operate its Saturday schedule on the Antelope Valley, Orange County, 91/Perris Valley, San Bernardino, Inland Empire-Orange County and Ventura County lines with a $10 Holiday Pass. Metrolink trains will not operate on the Riverside Line on Monday. Metrolink will operate a regular weekend schedule on Saturday and Sunday. The $10 Weekend Day Pass will be available Saturday and Sunday, while the $10 Holiday Pass will be available Monday. The $10 Holiday Pass can be purchased on the Metrolink Mobile App or at Metrolink Station Ticket Machines found under “special ticket options.” The $10 Holiday Pass allows for unlimited rides throughout the system for the day.

Kids ride free on Saturdays and Sundays. A maximum of three children, age 17 and younger, can ride free with a paying adult. Kids do not ride free on Monday.  Metrolink’s Rail 2 Rail program, which allows Metrolink Monthly Pass holders to travel on Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains within station pairs at no additional charge, will be suspended from Friday through Tuesday. The program will resume July 6. Codeshare trains remain available.

LIBRARIES: Riverside County, San Bernardino County and Redlands’ A.K. Smiley Public libraries will be closed Sunday and Monday.


TRASH PICKUP: City of Riverside, city of Redlands, Burrtec Solid Waste, Waste Management of the Inland Empire, CR&R and CAL Disposal will not have service on Monday; service will be delayed by one day. Riverside County and San Bernardino County landfills will be closed Sunday and Monday.
