With business ramping up ahead of the 2022 holidays, Walmart plans to hire an estimated 1,500 drivers nationwide, including up to 67 in San Bernardino County.
The company will hold hiring events from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, Wednesday, Oct. 5 and Friday, Oct. 7 in Fontana and Apple Valley. The locations are listed below:

- 21101 Johnson Road, Apple Valley
While there are different factors that make up a driver’s pay, new drivers can earn up to $110,000, the company said. They can also access company benefits on their first days of work and can earn as much as 21 days of paid time off in their first year.
Walmart benefits include medical coverage, a 401(k) match, an associate stock purchase match, paid maternity and parental leave, employee discounts and paid college tuition and books through its Live Better U program.
To drive for Walmart, a commercial driver must have at least 30 months of full-time experience with no serious traffic violations in the last four years, the company said.
The open house hiring events are designed to give applicants a chance to learn more about driving jobs with Walmart, including information on pay and benefits. They can meet with local management, tour offices and ask current drivers about their experiences working for Walmart.
