Upland man arrested on suspicion of murder in beating death of his wife – San Bernardino Sun

An Upland man who allegedly beat his wife to death and left her body along a roadside in Mountain Pass in San Bernardino County was arrested on suspicion of murder Saturday, Nov. 26, authorities said.

Shortly before noon Friday, Nov. 25, authorities responded to a 12-year-old girl at a Shell gas station on Cima Road who told deputies her father beat her mother and then abandoned her, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities later located the suspect, 37-year-old Jesus Jaimes-Rosas, off a dirt road near his vehicle. He suffered apparent self-inflicted wounds and was treated at a local hospital.

The remains of 31-year-old Sonia Flores were later discovered near Powerline and Kingston roads in Mountain Pass.

Jaimes-Rosas was arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail at the High Desert Detention Center.
