Three suspects were arrested on various charges after deputies located a stolen vehicle in Fontana, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
On Sept. 28 at about 9:45 a.m., Fontana Station deputies learned a vehicle was stolen from the 8300 block of Cherry Avenue in the unincorporated western area of Fontana. The victim reported Paul Lopez accessed her residence and later allegedly stole her vehicle. Lopez fled to an unknown destination. Deputies documented the vehicle as stolen and obtained an arrest warrant for Lopez.
At about 3:50 p.m., deputies learned the vehicle was being driven in the Fontana area. Through investigation, deputies confirmed the vehicle entered several other jurisdictions, including the cities of Rialto and San Bernardino, before returning to the Fontana area.
With the assistance of Sheriff’s Aviation, deputies located the vehicle, with the license plates hidden to avoid detection, in the 8700 block of Locust Avenue in eastern Fontana. Several subjects were contained and detained.
When the vehicle was recovered, deputies located a firearm with no serial number, marijuana, narcotics, and items indicative of the sale of marijuana, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The vehicle was returned to the rightful owner.
Lopez, 39, was arrested on a charge of vehicle theft.
Jeremy Carson, 43, who was found to be a convicted felon, was arrested for allegedly being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with no serial number, as well as possession of marijuana for sales.
Gustavo Urquiza, 40, was arrested on a charge of possession of a stolen vehicle. Urquiza was issued a citation and released in the field.
Lopez and Carson were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
