These two San Bernardino County restaurants are offering a different kind of pancake – San Bernardino Sun

Mike Obadja wants to make brunch a bigger part of the Inland dining scene.

He’s a co-owner of a pair of restaurants in San Bernardino County that specialize in breakfast and lunch items with an Asian-inspired twist.

The first was Take Ur Seat, which opened in 2018 in Chino Hills. It was followed by Take Ur Seat Too, which recently opened in Ontario.

The new restaurant is in The Village at Ontario Center, across Milliken Avenue from Ontario Mills in a space formerly occupied by Thai Fusion Bistro.

Specialties include cloud pancakes, which, according to Obadja, aren’t like the pancakes many people are used to.

“It’s essentially a Japanese-style souffle pancake,” he said in a phone interview. “It’s a little bit wet inside.”

The fluffy dish requires a half hour to prepare the Japanese way, Obadja said, but his kitchen developed a technique that can make them in 15-20 minutes.
