The Weeknd’s Nightmare Bar and other killer concoctions coming this season – San Bernardino Sun

Universal Studios Hollywood unveiled some frightfully fun new menu items that will be available to guests during its annual Halloween Horror Nights event, which kicks off Thursday, Sept. 8 and runs select evenings through Monday, Oct. 31.

If guests survive the “Blinding Lights” of The Weeknd: After Hours Nightmare attraction, which is filled with imagery and music from the pop and R&B star’s “After Hours” album, they can enjoy a themed cocktail at the After Hours Nightmare Bar. Set in a nightclub-style atmosphere, the bar will feature large screens playing The Weeknd’s music videos and short films. There will also be several cocktails named after tracks from the album as well as small bites like pizza fries.

Just outside the Killer Klowns from Outer Space attraction, fans can dine at the circus-themed Killer BBQ From Outer Space eatery. The menu features pulled pork sandwiches, loaded mac and cheese, 22-inch all-beef hot dogs, loaded nachos, funnel fries and ice cream treats from Jojo’s Ice Cream including the Killer Kone, a Ruijing Popkorn Shake and an Acid Pie Shake.

In the Plaza de los Muertos, which takes over the Universal Plaza on the upper lot, there will be two bars serving up an array of craft cocktails. The Dia de Los Muertos Bar will have Calavera Juice, Sugar Skull Punch and Smoked Margaritas served in light-up skull mugs. The Margarita Bar will have drink options including the Spicy Strawberry Vodka Margarita and Muerte Margarita. The Little Cocina will be selling beef birria tacos with red sauce, cheese tamales, esquites, churro bites, chamoy pineapple spears and more.

There’s also a fun light-up sugar skull popcorn bucket that includes free popcorn refills available at Palace Café, Studio Café and at carts on the lower and upper lots.

Tickets are $72-$102 general admission; $179-$289 Universal Express; $219-$329 Universal Express Unlimited; $112-$154 After 2 p.m. Day/Night Passes; $319-$449 R.I.P. Tour; $199 Frequent Fear Pass; $329 Ultimate Fear Pass. All passes are available at universalstudioshollywood.com.
