The Sushi and Sake Festival returns to Pechanga Resort Casino – San Bernardino Sun

Part of the summer experience is eating fresh foods, and what better combination than sushi and cold sake.

Pechanga Resort Casino is bringing back its Sushi and Sake Festival on Saturday, July 9, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Pechanga Summit. The casino offers four different ticket tiers to the event.

The first tier starts at $45 but only includes unlimited sushi. The second tier is $75 and includes unlimited sushi, sampling of more than 40 varieties of sake and eight kinds of beer.

The other two tiers range from $70-$150 and allow guests to enter the festival at noon, an hour before the festival opens its doors to general admission ticket holders. VIP tickets will also include a commemorative sake cup and wood cup holder.

Dominique Nortwick, manager of Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar located at Pechanga Resort Casino, said that guests can expect lots of fresh-cut fish dishes, including sashimi tuna, yellow tail and Hamachi Crudo.

Nortwick said guests will also have an opportunity to try a variety of sakes from filtered, sparkling and fruit flavors that pair with the dishes. Along with the different sakes, the festival will also serve beer and sake-inspired cocktails such as a sake mojito and a sake martini.

“I hope guests try all the different sushi and sake we will offer,” Nortwick said. “We want guests to have a good time and to walk away with a better understanding of the different ways to drink sake.”
