Suspect arrested in Highland killing – San Bernardino Sun



A man accused of killing a Banning man in Highland in May was arrested on suspicion of murder, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday, July 20.

Michael Curry, 27, was arrested Tuesday, July 19, around 7:52 a.m. after Highland Station sheriff’s deputies responded to a theft at a business on Baseline Street, authorities said. After his arrest, it was determined that Curry matched a description of a suspect in the May 26 killing of 47-year-old Brian Luna in the 7200 block of Mira Vista Avenue, the Sheriff’s Department said.

In May, Luna was found dead in the middle of the street, however, the circumstances behind his death were not immediately clear. No suspect was located at the time.

Curry was arrested on suspicion of murder and was being held without bail, police said.

Curry was identified as being a transient, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
