Skies will be mostly clear and temperatures will rise slightly through the weekend after a storm dropped rain and snow in Southern California.
Caltrans did not note any road closures Tuesday after scattered reports Monday of roads covered by water or rocks. No chain controls were in effect Tuesday except for Highway 2 east of Highway 39 in the Angeles National Forest.
Night and morning low clouds with sunny days in between are in the forecast for all of Southern California, which will experience normal temperatures for this time of year, the National Weather Service said. There is no precipitation in the forecast.
Gusty winds from offshore are expected in the Los Angeles County mountains and Antelope Valley.
High temperatures in LA County are expected to be in the high 60s to low 70s, with slightly higher maximum temperatures forecast for Orange County and the Inland Empire. Weekend temperatures should be slightly lower, especially on the coast.
High temperatures in the mountains, which accumulated 6 inches of snow or less in Monday’s storm at the resort levels, are expected to be in the 50s and 60s with lows in the low 30s to low 40s.
Some areas of Southern California received 2 inches of rain in the 24 hours ending at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the weather service. Some notable totals:
