Small brush fire in Hesperia burns in the same area as last month – San Bernardino Sun

Three structures reportedly were burned in a vegetation fire that broke out Friday at the southern border of Hesperia, near where Highway 138 meets Highway 173 in San Bernardino County.

The fire was initially reported just after 5 p.m. at about five acres with a moderate rate of spread. By 7 p.m., the fire had burned 40 to 50 acres and three structures were destroyed with other structures threatened amid shifting winds, Cal Fire San Bernardino Unit said in a tweet.

It was not immediately known what type of structures were burned.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Silverwood Lake State Recreational Area said around 6 p.m. there was no threat to the park.

This is the second time a fire has broken out in the area. Last month, the fire’s progress was stopped at about 95 acres.
