San Bernardino school district throws Back to School Extravaganza for 1,500 families – San Bernardino Sun


A new school year is on the horizon in San Bernardino, but before thousands of students return to class, the school district hosted a Back to School Extravaganza for 1,500 families Thursday, July 21, at Court Street Square.

Families enjoyed free entertainment across six hours and left with school supplies, dental necessities and information on how to access free and low-cost health and financial resources.

District staffers also offered information on programs and services.

Sponsors included San Bernardino Valley College, OmniTrans, Inland Empire Health Plan, Dignity Health, Loma Linda University, Molina Healthcare and AmazonAir.

The first day of school in San Bernardino is Monday, Aug. 1.

In the meantime, an enrollment fair is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Jones Elementary School, 700 N. F. St.
