Riverside’s Sub Station turns 50; new eateries in Redlands – San Bernardino Sun

This week we’re looking at tried-and-true and brand-new businesses.

The Sub Station, which has served generations of students at UC Riverside, marks its 50th anniversary this month without changing that much since it opened in 1972.

On the other end of the timeline are a couple of new eateries n Redlands.

Byrd’s Hot Chicken is the latest fried chicken chain to open an Inland location. The halal restaurant serves sandwiches and spicy chicken tenders in Redlands’ Orange Street Plaza.

Another new business in Redlands is the family-owned Happy Camper Creamery, serving gelato and sorbet.

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, several casinos are offering romantic dinner, drink and dessert specials.

And Trader Joe’s reveals its customers’ favorite products.
