Redlands’ LifeHouse Theater to present ‘Jericho,’ a new original musical – San Bernardino Sun



Redlands’ LifeHouse Theater will present a new original musical, “Jericho: The Courage of Rahab and Joshua,” opening 7 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at 1135 N. Church St.

The play, based on the biblical story of the battle of Jericho, will run weekends through April 24.

“We are thrilled to be presenting this look at two pivotal figures from Scripture,” Wayne Scott, LifeHouse founder and president, said in a news release. “Their faithfulness in the face of overwhelming challenges is an inspiring tale for all.”

Sarah E. Pearce of LifeHouse Theater wrote “Jericho” and is directing the production.

Music directors are Nick Diliberto and Dawn Gilmore. Choreography is by Jennifer M. DeWitt and costume design is by Ruth Frasch and Mary Lynn Mollner.

Jennifer M. DeWitt and Duane Crother play the title roles of Rahab and Joshua. Others in the cast are Jeremy Kruizenga as Salmon, Kirstie Acosta as Amirah, Charlie Groza as Na’eem, Luke Michael as Phineas, Morgan Evans as Captain Aasil, Koa Cohen as Lyla, Cosette Groza as Fatima, Dawn Gilmore as Maryam and Christopher Cotter as Ahmad.

After opening night, performances are 7 p.m. Fridays, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. There is one Thursday performance, at 7 p.m. April 21, and there is no performance on Easter Sunday, April 17.

Advance tickets are $22 or $26 for adults and $11 or $13 for children ages 3 to 11. Tickets are $2 more the day of the performance.
