Redlands’ Kimberly Crest offers training for prospective docents – San Bernardino Sun



Redlands’ Kimberly Crest House and Gardens is recruiting prospective docents for a docent training class that will run from Feb. 23 through March 18.

Docents at Kimberly Crest serve as tour guides and assist with projects, including cataloging historical artifacts, assisting with fundraising events and working in the gardens, according to a news release.

The docent training class will cover the history of Kimberly Crest; from the people who built it and called it home to the architecture and historical collections in the house.

Kimberly Crest House and Gardens, an 1897 French chateau-style Victorian mansion with Italian Renaissance-style gardens, is at 1325 Prospect Drive. It is a registered California Historical Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Kimberly Crest is open for tours 1-4 p.m. most Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
