Police seek ID of ‘person of interest’ in shooting that killed 15-year-old boy in Bloomington – San Bernardino Sun

A “person of interest” is being sought by authorities on Thursday, Nov. 3, in connection with a shooting at a Bloomington house party that killed a 15-year-old boy earlier this week.

At about 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, an estimated 300-500 people were gathered at the party at a residence in the 10600 block of Geronimo Avenue, according to Mara Rodriguez, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Several fights had broken out at the party prior to the shooting and when deputies arrived, the victim was found lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound.

The boy, identified as Robert Plyley, a Rancho Cucamonga resident, was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

No arrests were announced as of Thursday afternoon, but authorities released a photo of a “person of interest” and asked for the public’s help in identifying him. The Sheriff’s Department did not explain why he’s of interest in the investigation.

Plyely was a sophomore at Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga, officials with the school and Chaffey Joint Union High School District said. Therapists have been available on campus this week.

Anyone with information about the shooting or the person in the photo should contact Detective David Carpenter at 909-890-4904 or We-Tip at 800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com.
