Ontario man, 18, arrested in gang-related shooting death in Montclair – San Bernardino Sun



An Ontario man, 18, was arrested on suspicion of murder in the death of another 18-year-old man in Montclair in December, police said Monday, Feb. 28.

Mark Gallegos was arrested Friday, Feb. 25, at 8:10 a.m. at 13310 Lasselle Street in Moreno Valley, according to San Bernardino County jail records. He was arrested in the Dec. 20, 2021, shooting death of 18-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez, the Montclair Police Department said.

Information regarding a second outstanding suspect was also learned during the arrest, police said. Information on the status of that suspect was not immediately released.

On Dec. 20, police responded to a single-vehicle crash that followed a shooting in the 4400 block of Holt Boulevard, authorities said. The car was found riddled with bullet holes and Gonzalez was taken to a hospital with several gunshot wounds before he succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Police believe the shooting was gang-related, authorities said.

Gallegos was also arrested on suspicion of participation in a criminal street gang and being a felon in possession of a firearm, jail records showed.
