Muscoy man, 20, arrested in December shooting death of Highland man – San Bernardino Sun



A 20-year-old Muscoy man was arrested on suspicion of murder Monday in the December shooting death of a Highland man, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Tuesday.

Juan Martinez was taken into custody as a murder suspect in the Dec. 9, 2021, shooting death of 28-year-old Jimmy Vivian of Highland, the Sheriff’s Department said. Martinez was being held on $1 million bail, authorities said.

On Dec. 9, deputies responded to a shooting in the 2400 block of Macy Street in Muscoy and found Vivian on the ground with gunshot wounds, the Sheriff’s Department said. Despite life-saving measures, Vivian died at the scene, authorities said.

It was learned that Vivian arrived at the location where an altercation led to the shooting, leading to the identification of Martinez, the Sheriff’s Department said.
