A motorist was found shot to death at a Fontana intersection early Monday morning.
Around 2:15 a.m., a witness called authorities after noticing an unresponsive man in a SUV stopped at the intersection of Baseline Avenue and Heritage Circle, according to Officer Daniel Romero, a spokesperson for the Fontana Police Department. The doors of the SUV were locked, so officers had to break the driver’s side window to get to the man.
The man was suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not immediately clear if the man had been shot prior to getting behind the wheel.
The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of family.
There had been no arrest as of Tuesday afternoon, and information on a possible motive or suspects was not available.
