A car club gathering was disrupted Saturday morning after shots were fired from a passing vehicle at a Rialto park, injuring one person.
Officers were called around 11 a.m. to the 1400 block of Ayala Drive where multiple shots had been fired at the gathering held at Jerry Eaves Park, said Rialto Police Lt. Lamont Quarker. A man was found with a gunshot wound to his leg.
The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fired the shots from a dark colored sedan before fleeing the area in an unknown direction, Quarker said. A possible motive for the shooting or whether it was gang-related were not immediately known.
The shooting comes two days after a gun battle broke out at Alec Fergusson Park while group of elementary school students were in attendance on a field trip.
