A San Bernardino man was charged earlier this week with the Sept. 1 killing of another man found in a San Bernardino alley.
Byron Floyd, 58, pleaded not guilty to the murder of Fredrick Williams, 43, of San Bernardino and being a felon in possession of a firearm during his Wednesday, Sept. 7, arraignment, authorities and court records show.
Investigators have not disclosed a motive behind the killing.
On Sept, 1, police received a call just before 8 p.m. about a body in the alley behind the 1200 block of North Wall Avenue. Williams had been shot in the chest and died at a hospital.
Surveillance video showing the suspect with a firearm in the area, and information from witnesses, led detectives to Floyd, police said.
Patrol officers detained him on Monday, Sept. 5, and found him in possession of a loaded gun. Floyd remained in custody Friday at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga with a $2.25 million bail amount.
