Man believed to be linked to 10 San Bernardino armed robberies arrested – San Bernardino Sun



A man believed to be linked to at least 10 armed robberies in San Bernardino dating to December was arrested after a high-speed chase through the city, police said Monday.

Cardeial Damone Kennington, 25, of San Bernardino, was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 5, following an armed robbery of a San Bernardino business and police pursuit, police said in a news release. It wasn’t immediately clear where the Feb. 5 armed robbery and pursuit took place.

Beginning on Dec. 11, 2021, San Bernardino police began investigating a series of more than 10 armed robberies, police said.

When officers intercepted Kennington during the Feb. 5 armed robbery attempt, he fled in a car that was driven by another person, police said. The car fled throughout city streets and reached speeds greater than 80 mph and eventually crashed, police said.

Both suspects attempted to flee on foot but were apprehended by the officers, authorities said. No information regarding the suspect driving the car was immediately available.

Evidence linking Kennington to 10 robberies were found on him or in the vehicle, according to the Police Department.

Kennington was arrested on suspicion of robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and prohibited possession of ammunition, according to San Bernardino County jail records.

It wasn’t immediately clear when and where the other alleged armed robberies took place or if they all targeted businesses or individuals.
