A 25-year-old man was arrested Sunday, Feb. 6, after, the California Highway Patrol said, he caused a wrong-way collision on the 91 Freeway in Riverside that injured five people.
Mariano Castillo Baltazar was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury and driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 or greater and causing injury.
Victims had to be cut out of both involved vehicles.
He was being held Monday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The collision happened at about 1:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes at La Sierra Avenue.
