Man accused of killing woman in Hesperia apprehended in Van Nuys – San Bernardino Sun

A man on the run was arrested in Van Nuys after being identified as a suspect in the shooting death of a woman in Hesperia just about 24 hours prior, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Sunday, July 24.

On Wednesday, July 20, deputies were called around 3:30 p.m. to the 16400 block of Sequoia Street for an unknown problem, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. When they arrived, they found 37-year-old Heidi Allred of Hesperia with a gunshot wound, authorities said.

Medical personnel soon pronounced Allred dead, officials said.

Detectives later identified the suspect as 39-year-old Sarkis Krdotyan of Van Nuys, who had fled the area before the deputies arrived, authorities said.

On Thursday, July 21, deputies along with the U.S. Marshals Service found Krdotyan in the 7400 block of Whitaker Avenue in Van Nuys at 3:03 p.m. and took him into custody, according to San Bernardino County inmate records. He was being held on suspicion of murder in lieu of $1 million bail, the Sheriff’s Department said.

It wasn’t immediately clear what Krdotyan’s relationship was with the victim or what the motive for the killing was.
