Inland Master Chorale will present ‘Messiah’ in Redlands – San Bernardino Sun



The Inland Master Chorale will present “Handel’s ‘Messiah’ and More” 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, in Memorial Chapel on the University of Redlands campus, 1200 E. Colton Ave.

Accompanied by a chamber orchestra, the 60-member chorale and soloists will present Part I of George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah,” often referred to as the Christmas portion, plus the “Hallelujah” chorus.

“Messiah” soloists are sopranos Ravae Reynolds and Susan Meinders, altos Jacob Hall and Gabi Ochoa, tenor Zachary Krug and bass Georg Becker.

The program also includes arrangements of “God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen,” “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “Angels We Have Heard on High,” according to a news release.

The chorale’s assistant director, Zachary Krug, is bringing his Vista Murrieta High School Chamber Choir to perform selections from their holiday repertoire, including settings of “O Magnum Mysterium” and “Jingle Bells.”

Joseph Modica, director of the School of Performing Arts and the Conservatory of Music at the University of Redlands, directs the chorale. University of Redlands graduate Sophie Tait is the group’s pianist.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door and $10 for students and children. Children younger than 5 are not admitted.
