With the Fairview fire still burning near Hemet, there are opportunities for the public to help those whose lives have been affected.

Here’s how you can assist.

American Red Cross

To donate to the American Red Cross, visit its website, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or make a $10 donation by texting REDCROSS to 90999. Another way to donate is to volunteer for the American Red Cross. Learn more here.

San Jacinto farmers market

The San Jacinto Certified Farmers Market is offering food, snacks, water, clothes and hygiene products to those impacted by the blaze.

People can pick up items at 2575 S. San Jacinto Ave. until 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. They also can do so Sunday, Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The organization is seeking donations of hygiene items and non-perishable food.
