A 43-year-old man suspected of threatening acts of violence at the site of his Eastvale employer and assembling high-capacity firearms in his home was being held on $1 million bail.
Steven Allen Schultz of Apple Valley was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside Wednesday morning, July 20, on suspicion of making terrorist threats and possession of an assault weapon.
According to sheriff’s Sgt. Art Mendez, Schultz on on Tuesday afternoon allegedly became hostile with co-workers at a warehouse in the 5000 block of Goodman Road, just off of I-15.
Mendez alleged that the suspect “made concerning comments of violence,” though the specific remarks were not disclosed, nor was the reason for the hostility.
Deputies responded and started an investigation, culminating in a search warrant being obtained and served that night at Schultz’s residence, according to the sergeant.
“Multiple un-serialized firearms, known as ‘ghost guns,’ were located along with high-capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition,” Mendez said.
Ghost guns can be assembled from kits, often relying on parts derived from 3-D printing. The guns were seized, and Schultz was taken into custody without incident.
