Foo Fighters tribute to Taylor Hawkins at Kia Forum will feature members of Queen, Rush and The Police – San Bernardino Sun



Rock band Foo Fighters announced the special guests that will be joining them on stage at the Kia Forum on Sept. 27 during a tribute show to honor its late drummer Taylor Hawkins.

So far, the lineup includes Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney, The Police drummer Stewart Copeland, pop star Miley Cyrus, jazz drummer Omar Hakim, Queens of the Stone Age vocalist-guitarist Josh Homme and drummer Jon Theodore, Joan Jett, Rush bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson, Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, DJ and producer Mark Ronson, Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx, Red Hot Chili Peppers anchor Chad Smith, Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk, The Darkness drummer Rufus Taylor, The Struts frontman Luke Spiller, Alanis Morissette, Wolfgang Van Halen and a special appearance by Hawkins’ cover band, Chevy Metal.

More artists will be announced soon. Tickets to the show go on sale at 9 a.m. June 17 at Ticketmaster.com.

Hawkins, a Laguna Beach native, was 50 years old when he died suddenly on March 25 while the band had been in Bogotá, Colombia preparing to perform at Festival Estereo Picnic. Shortly after, the band announced it would cancel all of its tour dates.

The band will also be performing a tribute show on Sept. 3 at Wembley Stadium in London with many of the same special guests plus Liam Gallagher from Oasis and will include an appearance by comedian Dave Chappelle.

The concerts will benefit various charities in the UK and the US.
