Coldplay postpones Bay Area, Los Angeles, Phoenix concerts

Thousands of Coldplay fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the multiplatinum-selling pop-rock band on its upcoming Music of the Spheres World Tour.

Unfortunately, that number includes all the Californians with tickets to catch vocalist Chris Martin and company at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara and SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

“We’re very sorry to announce that due to logistical issues, we’ve had to reshuffle the opening dates of our U.S. tour, ” the band said in a statement posted on Twitter. “The U.S. shows will now begin in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl Stadium on May 6.”

The Levi’s date, which was originally scheduled for April 23, has been rescheduled for May 15. The two Coldplay shows at SoFi Stadium have been postponed and have yet to be rescheduled. Coldplay expects to announce new SoFi dates “as soon as possible,” according to the band’s statement.

The other concert affected by the reshuffling is the State Farm Stadium date in Phoenix. The show, originally set for May 3, is now scheduled for May 12.

“We apologise (sic) to all affected ticketholders for any inconvenience these rearrangements will cause,” the band said.
