Cal Poly Pomona farm animals return to LA County Fair – San Bernardino Sun

Over 130 farm animals were transported from Cal Poly Pomona to the Fairplex early Tuesday morning, May 3, in preparation for the LA County Fair opening later this week.

The assortment of livestock, which includes goats, sheep and lambs, made the trip for the first time since 2019 and will be part of the fair’s programming. Fairgoers can expect larger petting zoo areas to accommodate for crowd-control concerns and a new open location for the popular pig races.

The fair opens Thursday, May 5, and runs through May 30. Fairgrounds will be open only Thursdays through Sundays, opening with a Cinco de Mayo weekend celebration and ending Memorial Day.
