20 Inland Empire restaurants — and a brewery — expected to open in 2023 – San Bernardino Sun

We’ve been keeping an eye on several restaurants as they head toward opening to the public. Here are the ones we’re expecting to open this year.

Let’s start in San Bernardino.

The 5th Street Gateway project is well under construction on the north side of Fifth Street, between G and H streets.

Buildings that will house a new Starbucks and a Del Taco — both have existing locations just blocks away — are nearly complete.

They’ll be joined by a 7-Eleven with a gas station (7-Eleven offers food, right?) and at some point, another drive-thru.

Signage is already up for a Sonic Drive-In, which appears to be planned for the southwest corner of Fifth and G streets.

A few blocks south, The Habit Burger Grill is planned for the spot on Second Street, just east of the 215 Freeway, which was vacated by In-N-Out Burger when it relocated to Fifth and H streets.

We’re still waiting for a former 90s-era Rally’s to be resurrected at 996 W. Highland Ave., though it appears work is slowly being done at the location. There’s also a Rally’s planned on the southwest corner of Highland and Palm avenues.

A new Taco Bell at 348 E. Hospitality Lane is nearing completion.

It’s a theoretical replacement for a nearby Redlands Boulevard location that burned down years ago.

And at 111 E. Hospitality Lane, work is being done to convert the former Lotus Garden into another Kalaveras.

The rapidly-expanding chain also has locations planned for the site of the former Fu Lin Chinese Restaurant at 9645 Central Ave., Montclair, and in Corona.

A Dutch Bros Coffee is planned for a spot further east on Hospitality Lane, one of a handful planned for the region.

In addition to the San Bernardino location, Dutch Bros locations are planned for 163 W. Valley Blvd. and 1020 W. Renaissance Parkway in Rialto, 17010 S. Highland Ave. in Fontana and 1675 E. Eighth St., Beaumont.
