It’s been a couple of months since we took a look at new and future restaurants here in the Inland Empire. Let’s take a look at what’s changed since then.
The Hitch Burger Grill, mentioned back in November, has opened its second location, in Upland.
The new location — 2420 W. Arrow Route — was formerly a Legends Burgers.
Current hours are 7 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The chain’s original location remains at 10789 Arrow Route, Rancho Cucamonga.
Also in Upland, Swirls Soft Serve has opened at 1217 W. Foothill Blvd.
In addition to soft-serve ice cream and assorted toppings, the dessert shop also offers milkshakes, as well as tea and boba drinks.
Hours are noon-10 p.m. daily.
Falafel Flame has opened at 903 W. Foothill Blvd., Suite 903B, Upland.
The location was formerly Mi Casita del Sabor, and before that, an outpost of the vegan Loving Hut chain.
Falafel Flame offers Mediterranean cuisine, including kabobs, lamb chops, and of course, falafel.
Hours are 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m.-1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
Despite appearing open on the chain’s website, the downtown Redlands Denny’s is still in the process of completing its move into the former Sizzler. The restaurant is relocating from its previous home on the Redlands Mall property across the street.
The new location — 110 W. Redlands Blvd. — was also the site of a pop-up steak and lobster restaurant called California Grill for a brief time in 2020.
Also in Redlands, Septembers Taproom and Eatery is preparing its fourth location.
The chain, which opened recently in Chino Hills, is renovating the building at 515 Orange St., Suite B, behind the O’Reilly Auto Parts store and is hiring for the new location.
Redlands’ Cookie Co. is looking to expand into a chain, opening a second location in Riverside.
The future location is at 195 Alessandro Blvd., Suite 8C, formerly home to Fufu’s Grill, in the Mission Grove shopping center.
Carlos’s Tijuana Tacos, which currently has locations in Bellflower and Whittier, is prepping a Riverside location.
The planned location is at 3980 University Ave., in the same building as the future home of Richie’s Hot Chicken.
Kalaveras, which is coming to Riverside, is also planning a location in Montclair.
The Montclair location appears to be at 9645 Central Ave., the former home of Fu Lin Chinese Restaurant.
Also, we’re still waiting on the Colton location — 1550 W. Valley Blvd. — of Roll-Em-Up Taquitos.
In addition to the Colton location, the chain’s website boasts future locations in development across the Inland Empire.
The chain currently has locations in Chino Hills and Victorville.
Also in Colton, Happy Boy Tacos & Mariscos is coming to 2671 Reche Canyon Road.
The spot was formerly the Canyon Cottage Restaurant.
In San Bernardino, a former El Pollo Loco is nearly done being transformed into a KFC.
The location, 905 N. Waterman Ave., was most recently Wok N’ Grill, which closed in 2017.
New at Baker’s
Baker’s Drive-Thru has updated its menu with a trio of all-day breakfast items.
The Inland Empire-based chain has added a disk-shaped churro it’s calling a Churro Bun, and a cup of oatmeal. Both are priced at $2.69 per item.
The restaurant’s new Baker’s Brew coffee ($2.55) is now freshly ground and brewed one cup at a time.
Unlike the rest of Baker’s breakfast offerings, which are only available until 11 a.m. daily, the three new items are available all day for a limited time.
