At least one person was burned in a vegetation fire that broke out Monday at the southern border of Hesperia, near where Highway 138 meets Highway 173 in San Bernardino County.
The fire had consumed between 10-15 acres and was burning through medium fuels, San Bernardino County Fire Department officials said in a 5:30 p.m. tweet. By 6:21 p.m. the fire was measured at about 50 acres.
People were advised to avoid the area along Highway 138, east of the 15 Freeway. The fire was reported to the northwest of Silverwood Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Further information about the fire and the condition of the person who was burned was not immediately released.
